End of the Road End of the Road is a 5,000 plus capacity festival held in mid September at Larmer Tree Gardens Dorset. This is a fine venue with follies and peacocks, and the music is just as good a bag of eclectic left field noise you'll hear all year. Lots to do for the children with circus tents, drum workshops etc, and because its not too crowded it's a chance for them and you to see some great bands close up.
Latitude Latitude is pretty big - 20,000 plus - but very family friendly with loads of kids based stuff going on. Lots of music, comedy, cabaret, theater and poetry. The comedy tents gets big names but gets very packed. The music stages are numerous and on the whole accessible for the kids. Its in beautiful countryside near Southwold in Suffolk and is held over a weekend in the second half of July.
Solfest Solfest is held in August near the Solway Firth in West Cumbria. It was voted the top Family Festival of 2007. A friendly crowd of around 10,000 gather to listen to some top bands and enjoy the laid back atmosphere.The kids are very well catered for and all their entertainment come at no extra cost. |

Guilfest Guilfest is in Guilford Surrey and gets a crowd of over 20,000 festival fun lovers. Very child and parent friendly with creche and kids zones. The bands are more oriented to parents out for a good time with reformed and tribute bands often having high billing.
The Green Man Festival The Green Man festival is held, Mid August, in Wales. It takes place in the beautiful Glanusk Park Estate, over 20,000 acres of rolling parkland in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. The focus is on eclectic folk rock, new and twisted folk, eccentics, left field newcomers and good times. There a number of stages in great settings and a childrens area with a whole range of exciting activities. Capacity is 10,000.
